“Clean, large room”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

Well we had an adventure here but I would still recommend. Room was HUGE and very clean. Nice balcony and was great to have a fridge. We walked the half block to the beach, very nice beach. We got back to our room and an hour later the transformer blew and the whole block went dark. Manager was great about getting everyone tea lights ( although it would have been nice if they were bigger). He was very accommodating to everyone. My complaints would be that the walls are a little thin and it would be nice to have a flat screen tv but not necessary.

Our family is larger, and we sometimes have a hard time finding appropriate places to stay that also fit in our budget. The owner of the Sea Treasures Inn gave us a great rate on adjoining rooms, one with two queen beds, microwave & mini-fridge, and the other with one queen bed, dining area, and full-sized kitchen (stocked with basic pots, pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, full stove and oven, the biggest microwave I've ever seen, and even dishwashing liquid and dishwasher powder under the sink.)

The rooms and bathrooms were *very* clean, beds comfortable, pillows good. They had the nice microfiber fleece blankets instead of those spongey, foam-like "hotel" blankets, which I really appreciated.

This is an older building, but the owners appear to be doing a great job on refurbishing. While our rooms did not have AC, they did have nearly silent fans and ceiling fans in each room, good bathroom ventilation fans, and by opening the front door and balcony door, we caught ocean breezes that cooled the rooms within minutes; even with just the balcony open, we were very comfortable (and I hate being hot, so that's saying something!) Even staying in August, we had no problem with a lack of AC.

It took us two days to realize there were no phones in our rooms. :) The peace and quiet were fantastic!

Our rooms balconies opened toward the main road (Hwy 101), and I initially feared traffic noise might be a problem, but we ended up not noticing it during the day, and all traffic drops off about 6pm, so night noise was basically non-existent. The surrounding houses and hotels are all very quiet and peaceful. Just what you want in a stress-free vacation!

One small complaint that we brought to the owner's attention was that the employee who swept all the walkways and sidewalks each afternoon smoked while doing so, which blew into the rooms and staled quickly. The owner's response indicated he would be handling that situation going forward, so we would not hesitate to visit again; it was a very minor blip in the experience.

It truly is only steps to the beach access, minimal to zero traffic to deal with, and has easy-to-maneuver free parking as well. Upper Crust Pizza is just a block down (tasty!), and the motel is only two blocks from a nice clean coin-op laundry, and all the downtown shops, too.

The towels were just about bliss: clean, soft, and really, really good to smell.

Rockaway Beach is one of the less commercial beach spots in that section of the Oregon Coast, and makes a fantastic "home base" to explore north and south. (Be sure to hit the Blue Heron Cheese Factory in Tillamook, and Fisherman's Corner restaurant on the pier in Garibaldi!)

Summing up... we're definitely headed back next summer, and booking a full two weeks. Being able to self-cater for most meals let us really enjoy exploring great cafes and restaurants for select meals, and our rooms at the Sea Treasure Inn made that possible and comfortable. We had a really great experience!

Room Tip: Ask about special room rates if you're booking two or more rooms for four or more nights!

We will be leaving tomorrow after a five day stay over the Labor Day week-end. The innkeeper was very cordial and helped with suggestions for places to visit while here. The room was quiet, clean and had a fully equipped kitchen. The room was large with TV and free WiFi. It is located about fifty yards from the beach and a short walk to restaurants, other retail stores and the scenic railroad. If we were to pass by again, this is a must stop

What a great find in rockaway just a short block from the beach
from our 2nd story balcony you could see the beach
This is an older hotel that has been nicely upgraded
the beds were very comfortable and the bedding was awsome so soft it was a great place to sleep in !!!
the towels were very soft !!!
we stayed for 2 nights 3 days and they let me check in early
The man that checked me in and out was very nice and helpfull

on the down side the new condos all around the hotel were a bit stiffling you could not go out on the balcony and have any privacy or leave your window drapes open and the smoke from the fireplaces around the area was heavy at times

other than that it was a great stay and I recommend room 105 to anyone looking for a slightley under $100. a night stay at the beach! walking distance to the water ,events, restruants and stores !
