Ours was a long drive up from San Luis Obispo, so we were ready for some time out of the vehicle when we pulled into the drive of the motel.
At check-in, we were greeted by Katleyn who did a marvelous job of making us feel welcomed; she was warm and friendly and best of all, on top of things completely.
Our room was clean, larger than we expected and complete with a microwave and refrigerator. Best of all, the cups at the coffee machine with real, pottery cups and the glasses in the bath were, are you ready readers?...the glasses were really that, glasses!!! No paper or plastic cups in this room! What a delight.
Morning came, and we were greeted by Cory who was busy keeping the breakfast space clean and tidy...we had the presence of mind to bring our real cups with us from the room, so we enjoyed our morning beverage in real coffee mugs. Other guests tho were less fortunate, having forgotten to bring their mugs they were forced to drink from the styrofoam things.
Check-out was a simple task made even more delightful by Melissa who's smile brightened the room.
This trip from the south to Redmond and beyond is an annual thing for us; in the past, we've stayed in Bend. We both agreed at the end of this stay that our normal routine will change. In the future, we'll drive on to Redmond in order to over-night here in this Super 8.
We made reservations two months in advance. When we arrived we were located where we requested. After unloading our belongings, the remote for the TV wasn't working. I took it to the front desk, which happened to be what I'm assuming was a maintenance person filling his cup of coffee, the desk clerk looked at him and asked him to assist. He immediately new which room was the problem. He said they do not have a program guide for the TV and thought this issue was fixed. I suggested maybe it was the batteries, they switched out the batteries. I said maybe someone needs to come look at it to make sure we weren't doing something incorrectly. He said it was pretty basic. We tried it again & it wasn't working. The clerks suggestion was to move us clear to the other side of the motel and up one story. I asked for a roll cart. She said they only have one and its being used. Three trips, between the two of us, later we were moved. Within the hour the room with the bad TV was rented out to a member in our group. The TV was now working. We made 5 trips to the front desk to have our key-cards re-keyed because they weren't working. One time my husband just got back from having them re-keyed, we tried them in the door and one of them wasn't working. I took them down to the front desk and the desk clerk was irritated with me as I told her this was ridiculous we have to keep having the keys re-keyed. She said "she just keyed those," and I said, "it's not working!" Other members in our group had the light cover in their room shatter. The Hotel maintenance cleaned it up but didn't clean it well as there was still glass in the carpet. Another member's faucet was leaking the whole time we stayed there. They ran out of swimming pool towels, we had to bring towels from our room and request additional, thank God they didn't run out of room towels. Obviously, they can't handle the hotel being full of guests. The Clerks were rude (Holly & Cortney), like they were pissed off at everyone and it was our fault that all of these issues were happening. There are no refrigerator or microwaves in the room which would have been helpful since we were staying the weekend for a Basketball Tournament. We travel to Redmond often and will plan on shopping around better next time we come.
