Prospect is a stop between Medford and Crater Lake. The hotel is the primary reason to stop there. It's a favorite place for people who want to be near Crater Lake but can't get into (or don't want to stay in) the lodge, and don't want a typical motel experience. The historic portion of the inn has smallish but comfortable rooms. The service is great and everyone on the staff is very friendly. The owners come to your table to make sure that everything is satisfactory. The front desk person in the evening is a gem -- totally enthusiastic; you almost felt like you were the first person she had ever welcomed to the hotel, when in fact she must have the same conversation hundreds of times each week. The food in the restaurant is very good and has gourmet touches. I don't know about the motel portion and have been lucky to always get in one of the historic rooms. And I will be back.
