Prineville is a small town in central Oregon, and we needed a place to stay while traveling home through that part of the state. All other Best Westerns in the area were booked (a lesson to plan ahead in summer!), as were many other hotel brands. Not familiar with local options, we elected to stay here. Positives: check-in went well, room was clean and comfortable. We didn't use the pool, but a family with kids looked like they were having fun. Why the average rating? I felt it was overpriced, and the shower water in the morning was cold, even though the water in the sink was plenty hot. When I mentioned this to the desk staff (when checking out as we left after cleaning up in the morning), response was so-so with no particular concern. Staff overall was adequate. Breakfast was the typical "continental", nothing special. Some fresh fruit would have been welcome. If we travel through the area again, I'd probably look for something else.
