My husband and I take at least two trips a year to Portland to visit Powell's and this is a great location because we can walk there. It is also close to Whole Foods, PF Chang's, Anthropologie, Lucy and more.
It is an older hotel but our rooms have always been very clean. I think all the rooms have kitchens (the appliances crack me up - very tiny). We usually just use the fridge and the kettle. The breakfast is included but nothing special (cereal, toast, fruit, pastries - the basics). They are currently renovating. The staff is very courteous. We received a copy of the NY Times each morning.
I have found the best prices on their own website or Portland the big deal site.
