Not as trendy as in the past, The Heathman Hotel still is classy. This was a perfect choice for a two night stay. There is a lot to do and see within a few blocks of the hotel. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Many rooms face a decorated wall. This actually is not bad and the noise of a busy city are muffled.

It was very cold in Portland the weekend we stayed at the Heathman. It was great that it was centrally located so we didn't have to walk too far to Powell's Books and the History Museum (the museum was great!). We had tickets for the symphony, thank goodness, it was right next door! The front desk personnel (especially Cooper) were great to deal with. We loved our room, it was small but clean and well-equipped. We loved the French coffee press. We were a bit disappointed with the restaurant, we had lunch and breakfast there. The muffins were dry and the food was just OK, however, the service was great. I would definitely stay at the Heathman again but I might eat somewhere else.

Dear Linda G,

The cold, in Portland, took us all by surprise so early in the season! We are pleased to hear that you were able to take advantage of our proximity to so many local sights! Cooper is one of our newer Personal Concierge, but he is already a service star and one of our finest, so glad you got to experience his assistance.
We have to apologize that the food at the restaurant wasn't better received, we hope that you are willing to try us again next time you stay at the Heathman Hotel. Feel free to contact me directly for reservations next time you book, I'll make sure that all is in line for your stay!

Sincerely,

Krissy

I treated my sister-in-law to a three night stay at The Heathman for her birthday. We had a wonderful corner room with wonderful service. The staff was tremendously helpful in arranging flowers, chocolates and a birthday cake to surprise the birthday girl, and our dinner at the restaurant for the birthday supper was superb. I wouldn't change one detail of our weekend. Lovely hotel with superior service, attention to detail and the staff is friendly, not stuffy. It's the only place I'll stay in Portland.

Room Tip: The Renaissance King corner rooms have a lovely seating area, two full bathrooms, tea/coffee making...

Old family favorite. Was birthday and thanksgiving treat. Only the valet staff held up to excellent and long time restaurant staff. Very disappointed for the first time after planning well in advance. Many details overlooked.Off gassing, delayed delivery of birthday gift plate, room change, slow room service, hidden Pretty much ruined reason for choosing.

I am very saddened to hear that you had such a disappointing stay with us. Attention to detail is very important especially during the holidays and special occasions. I apologize immensely for our oversight and delay in service. I would like the opportunity to speak with you personally to search further into the details that were missed.

The Heathman Hotel is delightful! Our room was upgraded and we couldn't have been happier. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the doorman and valet staff! The location is within walking distance of the train and many downtown shops, restaurants and boutiques.

Room Tip: If you can reserve the Grand Suite- it's fabulous. The shower is very oversized with dual shower...

My husband and I go to Portland often for business and to visit family. Our stays require that we stay for several nights. We searched for a hotel that had a room with two bathrooms and much to our delight found the Heathman Hotel beautifully located in downtown Portland. The accommodations are magnificent every time we visit regardless of the size room we choose. The staff on every level is top notch. Attentive, caring and down right pleasant!
The beds are so comfy and the food is to die for. In the spring they have pancakes with lemon and poppy seeds and in the fall pumpkin pancakes. OMG!

Over Thanksgiving we went wild and crazy and stayed 6 nights in their amazing Literary Suite. It was the loveliest suite we have ever stayed in. If you want to indulge in comfort, surrounded by
elegance and literature with lots of room to relax in then you will love the Literary Suite.

Long or short stay, we highly recommend The Heathman. You will love the people and the location.
