I recently dined at Brix with a friend for restaurant month. The regular menu has a lot of offerings, although not many vegetarian selections (I am not a vegetarian, but am on the look out for y'all). The food is advertised as comfort food - meaning heavy, creamy or fried dishes. While service was good and my meal was ok, it wasn't up to Portland's dining standards. There was nothing particularly special and while the restaurant week price (My bill totaled $37 for salad, entree, dessert, one glass of wine and coffee) was modest for the courses/serving size, I still think one can have higher quality for the same expense. If you are a Portlander, this is not likely your scene - a bit of meat market atmosphere. If you are visitor, there are so many other outstanding options in town, why waste your time.
