My daughter and I went to the Screen Door following a road trip in which we drove along the Atlantic seaboard, ending in Savannah, GA. We fell in love with the food in the South and wanted to recreate that experience. To our delight, the food at the Screen Door was every bit as good as, and in some ways better, than any we ate at the best places in the South. I've never had better fried chicken!! I highly recommend this place.

Hands down the best fried chicken I've ever tasted, and the shrimp 'n grits are awesome, but I avoid the long wait for a table (no reservations taken, and the line starts a half hour before they open!) by ordering to-go!

This is just another one of those so so o k lind of places. Nothing really special jumps out as to why eat here. It is not bad
just seems a little expensive for
what it is
No really cannot find a reasonable reason to return.

What's not to like is more the question. One of my favorites in Portland for brunch. A bit of a wait of course. But with a cup of good coffee and a ebullient atmosphere it's not too painful
You might imagine your in the French Quarter from the atmosphere. The real treat is their maple glaced bacon and the fried chicken and waffles- wow

Large portions mean you had better bring your appetite, and the desire to try lots of things on the menu means you should go in a group. Enjoyable atmosphere as well. Save room for dessert as there are yummy options.
