“Oh my mac & cheese.”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

The macaroni and cheese was just the best. We sat out side, the atmosphere was perfect. The menu isn't huge but we loved what we ate.

“Great food...OVER the wait!!!”
Reviewed January 11, 2014 via mobile

Today is the LAST day I'll ever go to Screen Door for brunch. While the food is great, the wait is brutal. It makes no sense to put your name in and watch people who arrived well after you did be seated BEFORE you or worse seated right next to you on the patio...they really need to consider taking reservations because the waiting truly takes away from the real experience of enjoying this restaurant.

“A MUST GO!”
Reviewed January 9, 2014 via mobile

Being from Chicago it is very hard to impress a breakfast lover. We waited approx 30 minutes for a table of three, meanwhile having amazing drinks at the bar. Once we we're sat and our food was brought out I noticed that my chicken was not thoroughly cooked (still pink and slimy)... Bummer! They apologize and quickly brought out a fresh order of chicken and waffles for me. No biggie-- but I'm glad I noticed it. Overall the restaurant was great, food was delicious, and the environment was lively.

“Best Fried Chicken”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

The Screen Door is located in a neighborhood and parking is on the street. There is a small waiting area inside and there was a line spilling outside even though it was raining hard. Come on, this is Portland it always rains. Put your name on a waiting list and you are given the option of eating inside or out in the covered patio. We were open to sitting anywhere; we ended up waiting about 45 minutes and being seated at the bar. It was fun watching the bartender and chit chatting with the people next to us while waiting for our meal. The restaurant has a fun vibe and is really jumping.

The fried chicken and biscuits or waffles are out of this world.

“Great place and worth the wait!”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

As we are new to the Portland area, we're on a quest to try some fun local places and Screen Door DID NOT let us down!! Great menu, very friendly staff, prompt service, vibrant atmosphere and all around very tasty. Come here with an appetite and a plan on how you'll work off the calories. You'll likely wait for a table, but it's worth it.
