Visiting Portland from the UK, we took the #4 bus up to this bustling area intending to eat at Pok Pok. But at 6.15pm on a September Saturday, the wait at Pok Pok was to be 90 minutes, so we walked a couple of blocks back towards town and stumbled across this food cart pod. So glad we did! The place was buzzing and the atmosphere was great. What's more, the choice of food and drink was wide, prices cheap and we thoroughly enjoyed eating our purchases in the central courtyard. Highly recommend both this area of the city for eating, and this food cart pod!

First, the neighborhood is great. The 'food cart pod' is located amidst some other great bars, restaurants, and within walking distance of Salt & Straw.. you know, in case you didn't find something that tickled your fancy at Tidbit. Which is not just unlikely but an impossibility.
Second, the different types of food! There was asian noodles, vegan something, veggie juices, hawaiin, indian and my favorite WAFFLES from Smaaken. So much goodness, not enough stomach space! Definitely something for everyone
Third, the atmosphere. Not only are you surround by excellent food, but add some picnic benches, twinkle lights and some clothing carts, what more could a person ask for.
Overall a great Portland experience.
LAST THING. Know when to go. Admittedly I went at about 3pm on a Monday but a lot of places were closed/hadn't opened yet, so I could only lust after them from afar. Just know that not all the food carts are open all day/everyday so as to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Great hangout for a large group. We got there early and had about 30 people come. Perfect for a large gathering because everyone can order what they want and not have to worry about splitting the bill.

One of the best food cart pods in Portland (and there are many!). The selection is out of this world and the choices are fantastic. Delicious every one!! (Yes, I've tried most of them). My favorite, however, is the dessert cart that serves all vegan and gluten free choices. They are divine and a 'special foods' customer can eat with confidence and be in culinary heaven at the same time!!!!

You can't go wrong, so just go here to eat, drink, and appreciate how cool this space is. See the pink flamingos, taste the amazing and healthy flavors, all without going broke! This was our favorite place to go on our first visit to Portland. We feel lucky to have found it .
