Not much to add to the other [good] reviews, except to note that the Aerial Tram is part of the transit system and free if you take the tram there. We rode bikes from downtown along the Waterfront Path. You can take bikes on the Aerial Tram but the ride down is treacherous, so do the return trip (same price as one-way).

This is definitely an excellent way to see the view of Portland from the air as the tram goes up or down. The fee is just $4. It just takes a couple of minutes to arrive at the hospital where you can take photos from different angles of the city. What is more is that you find paintings on the corridor at a certain part of the building (hospital) and you don't really feel like you are in one! I think the tram ride is a fun and cheap way to see the scenery both during daytime and after sunset cause it will surely be very different.

The Portland aerial tram is the best way to see the city of Portland. For the money ($4.00 pp up, free for the trip down) you get to see the city at its finest. While at the top visit the cafeteria. The food is good and prices very reasonable.

It's $4 round trip. The tram is used for doctors to go from the school to the hospital, but it's open to the general public to use. It was an amazing view of the city. We went on a super clear day, and we were able to see 3 different mountains. It was the first time we we're able to see Mt. St. Helens from Portland. We spent only a short time up there, but it was a great view and well worth the trip!

We were only in Portland for 24 hours so I wanted to do this to actually see the city before we drove back to Seattle, the main city of our vacation. The tram ride is $4 a person and about 4 minutes each way. You can stay and look out from the top landing as long as you would like. I was excited to see Mt. St. Helens because I remember learning about it in the 1980s. We took a couple of pictures and went back down. It is a quick and simple way to see the views and move on.
