We like Portland and have family who moved here a few years back. So everytime we visit we go to different places and this time we took the tram. It is a cheap ride and also very short but it offer a nice view of Mt. Hood and few other mountain if you go on a clear day. We took great pictures and will try it again. It is worth when you get to see the beauty of the mountains!

Great view of Portland, but in line with Portland weirdness, the ride ends in the middle of the reception a Hospital, great if you are checking in...

My daughter, who lives here now, wanted me to see this tram; it was not here when I lived here years ago. and it was a treat! Fantastic view of the city, both sides of the river, Mt. Hood in the distance. A tourist attraction, yes, but also a practical route for hospital employees and visitors, since parking around the large health facility is so impacted. Definitely worth a stop if in Porrland- especially in late afternoon light.

We picked up a brochure from the hotel we were staying at and figured this would be a fun thing to do as a family. Ride the tram, see the city! What the brochure did not say is that the tram dumps you into a hospital with absolutely nothing else to do up there. We wandered into the lobby area with a bunch of patients and doctors hanging around, wondering why on earth this is billed as a tourist attraction. The ride is extremely short and the windows are frosted a quarter of the way up so our kids couldn't even see out. Not recommended unless you want a fun way to admit yourself into the hospital. Seriously, it should have mentioned somewhere on the brochure what you are getting yourself into. For our family, it was a waste of $16.

Worth taking the kids on and viewing the city. It's quick so try to get a groupon. It's also close to the water and Saturday market. So various things to do close by.
