Travel through the city of Portland Oregon on its well organized tram system. You can catch the aerial tram at is the end of the line for one of the rail trams, believe it to be the red line trams. From Portland's riverfront you can board the Aerial Tram for a round trip fee of around $2.50. It will take you to the top of the mountain where there is a Hospital (Oregon Health & Science University Hospital) also next door to a Shriner's hospital. From there you have a great view out towards Oregon and Washington State. on a clear day ( the saying in apart land is the mountains are out). This is very difficult because it rains constantly and the cloud ceiling is often too low for visibility. Viewable on a good day is Mount St. Hellen's , Mount Hood and Mount Rainier. Although a fantastic view, I went on two different days and was unable to see the mountains. None the less it was enjoyable and certainly cheep enough. If you like you can visit the hospital's cafeteria which contrary to the normal hospital food is quite good. It is very inexpensive compared to Portland's restauant's and the food is prepared while you wait. Certainly is a bargain in today's times. It's a nice ride on the rail tram as well as on the Aerial Tram.
