Good movies, great drinks and food and relaxing seats. We love it here. Always spend too much, but never regret it. And Powell's is right across the street, too.

You can pick your seat! Also you can have a nice meal and a drink while watching the show. They tend to run lesser known films, foreign films, etc.

Living Room Theaters in downtown Portland is one of my favorite venues to watch movies. One can dine in the wonderful tapas lounge and then proceed to the movie. Or you can dine in the movie theater.

Great way to watch films!

Checked out a film at the Living Room Theater while visiting the Northwest, and had an overall positive experience. The wait staff was extremely friendly and additional drinks we ordered during the film were delivered to us in the theater. The variety of independent films they show is a refreshing break away from all the mediocre movies out inhabiting the megaplexes nowadays.

My only negative critiques: I was expecting the seating to be similar to that of (probably gonna get flack, but here it goes) Austin's Alamo Drafthouse Theaters to accommodate people with food orders; however, it doesn't and the ability to place your food somewhere while eating is somewhat limited. Also: unlike the Alamo, there was no wait staff that would check on us periodically during the movie, so getting refills or ordering additional things required me leaving the theater to go to the concession stand/bar and miss portions of the film (the staff did bring the drinks into the theater, at least, so I didn't have to wait while they made the order).

In spite of the above criticism, this local company and the facility's overall unique setup with a bar as you enter and unique food options helps make it feel less like a stuffy movie chain theater and a one of a kind movie viewing experience. Of you're a film buff, you must go here when in PDX.
