Although the food is a cut above "pub grub", the really nice aspect of this theater is its intimate nature. Each theater is more like a living room, than a movie theater. Comfortable seats, great sound system and every seat has an unobstructed view.
The menu is good, ranging from salads, wraps and grilled items (brats, burgers). There is a large wine list, beers on tap and even some cocktails. The theater advises that for in-theater service, you need to arrive 30
minutes early. And, there is concession fare - popcorn, candy, and truffles - to enjoy while you watch the movie.
The only disadvantage is the cramped hallway to reach the theaters. Prior to seating, the hallway can be a bit tight.
Living Room Theater is a fun place to see the latest movie release - almost in the comfort of a home tehater.

This is the best place in town to enjoy quality movies. Their selection includes some of the most popular mainstream films, as well as foreign and artistic showings.

There is a full pub with entrees, appetizers, deserts, beers, spirits, sodas, and typical theater snacks, that you can order from, and then you can choose to eat at a table, or go in the theater and they will bring it to you when it’s ready. The seats are pretty comfortable and not too crowded, and the staff are friendly.

While the food and beverage options are better and cheaper than most theaters, good luck getting served before your movie starts.
I ordered a ticket in advance online. Arrived more than 25 minutes in advance to a huge line with one person working. Since I did not print it, my phone said to pickup at ticket window - no problem since I had lots of time. Grumbling up and down the line about slowness and hassle. Got to window and was abruptly told to go inside. Behold, another huge line. No signs, no one telling people what to do. I finally went to theater and found my seat (no attendant, no signage) then went back to the line to order food. Asked a passing staff person if I could order in theater and was told no. Food line even slower, only speeding up a little when a second person opened a register.
I was very unhappy with the casual and extremely slow staff as well as the complete lack of signs or staff to help guide people. Very different than my last visit, which was midday during the week, but very likely to be my last time there. Too bad, as movie selection is eclectic and the food is far better than most theaters.

Love this place to see movies! mix of arty and commercial films, reserved seating, table service in the theater. Good selection of food and drink. Takes moviepass. Pay for parking across the street. Right by Powell's books.

The Living Room has a good assortment of blockbuster films and more artistic films. We had some popcorn and 2 drinks and the cost was very reasonable. The whole experience of the theatre is fun and very Portland. If you want brand new seats and a large theatre you might want to go elsewhere, but everyone else will love this place!

The best is the good selection of movies. We saw a very good norwegian film. The food is not bad but is a little uncomfortable to eat during the film. Perhaps if you can begin to eat a second before the film begins....

My husband and I just visited here for the first time. We have experienced other living room theaters and found this one much older and dingier. We had lunch during the movie and it was quite good. I had the ham and cheese panini and my husband had the pizza. My panini was excellent....it came with good fresh greens in a simple vinaigrette. The problem is that there is no table or tray so after I finished, the plate sat on my lap until my husband got up during the movie and removed my plate. It is hard to eat and juggle a plate and silverware on your lap. The seats are large upholstered chairs that rock back but there is nothing to support your legs ; the seats are not recliners. But the staff was nice and the movie was good.

The most pleasant way to watch a movie is here. Great seats, delicious food, cost for the best salad was $4 and tickets $6. Can one lose? Plus excellent movie selection.
If you have not experienced this, do!
