“Absolutely worth trying and visiting again!”

Great food-the green papaya salad is unique and yummy! If you're adventurous, try the sipping vinegars. They are seriously good and a refreshing alternative to soda and they go really well in cocktails!! The prices are a little high but its really good food.

“Bourdain Lip Service and an entertaining menu”
Reviewed August 20, 2014

After hearing this mentioned on a recent “No Reservations” episode we thought we’d give it a try. Note: Chef Andy Ricker has Pok Pok locations elsewhere as well (NYC for one). Around 6-ish the wait was only 30 – 45 minutes, which easily passes when you walk across the street to their sister establishment, the Whiskey Soda Lounge. The two shops are connected electronically so your server at the WSL will tell you when your table is ready. Also, Pok Pok will text your phone if that’s what you prefer. More restaurants should do that. You can enjoy your choice of cocktail (and there are a lot of choices), beer, or wine (limited selections here) while you wait for your table. Once seated the atmosphere reminded me of the roadside stands that you find throughout the world (especially in places where the local health dept. is non-existent). Tin roof, plastic chairs/tables…all very Third World, that is to say, authentic. The drink menu is similar to that found at the WSL, but the food menu…that is why you came. The shtick here is authentic Thai, and it’s no act. I will admit that my experience with Thai has been short on “authentic” considering my environs of NE TN, but I am an adventurous eater and Pok Pok brought the goods big time. I thought the menu was quite helpful in that there was an explanation for each dish, indicating where it was from and how it was typically eaten. There are certainly some “interesting” items on the menu….couldn’t convince the SO to try boar collar meat. But you don’t want to miss Ike’s fish sauce chicken wings (get the spicy…not that hot) and we tried Chang Mai sausage in a curry, with naam phrik. Make sure you get some sticky rice as well. A local would typically use this as the “utensil” to grab the entrée with. The servers are very helpful and can point you to “more normal” dishes if the adventurous stuff is too out there for you. Add a cold beer and you’re not that far from the road side stand in Chang Mai province. If weird food isn’t your thing you might want to look elsewhere, but that’s ok……more for the rest of us ; ).

“Yum. ”
Reviewed August 19, 2014 via mobile

Great service. Friendly, knowledgable and mostly absent except when needed. Wings obviously great but the drinking vinegars are so good too. Prawns with rice noodles amazing. Boar's collar was spicy goodness. The sticky rive here is hands down, great

“Unbelievable Thai”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

This is unnerving how authentic this place is. Kind of unassuming decor. Very reminiscent of Asian family patio in the summer, right down to the tacky vinyl tablecloths. Be brave. Try something spicy. But don't miss the chicken wings. Lime refresher is also a must. And the rice is awesome fragrant. No guilt if you had a Salt and Straw ice cream from across the street while you wait for a table...

“Local hotSpot..Did not disappoint”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

Reserved in advance (necessity), for a group of 10. Awesome wings (a must). Menu is Thai inspired, and will give your mouth's taste and heat receptors a ride. Great variety of meat and non-meat items. Service was friendly, and efficient. Indoor and outdoor seating. Good for Groups. Very popular restaurant, check it out if you can.
