“A Book And Its Cover”
Reviewed February 5, 2009

The price was right, OK? When I saw the place I was worried, kind of sketchy, older and run-down. BUT the staff were pretty helpful, the rooms were clearly renovated, lots of wood cabinets, clean and in-room wi-fi. Nice coffee chop with basic b-fast included. Overall a good value for a centrally located hotel near the airport, shopping and rail.

My wife and I stay at Quality Inn & Suites Airport Convention Center 10 to 12 times each year. The service is excellent and the staff is very helpful. Last trip we were picked up from the airport at about 8:50PM. My wife was not feeling well and had not eaten all day. I wanted to get her a bowl of soup. I asked Jessica what time Sacred Grounds closed. She said 9:00 and then offered to call the restaurant and have them make a sandwich and bowl of soup to have it ready for us when we checked in. My wife and I were both extremely touched by her thoughtfulness and consideration.

Thank you again for all you do for your customers and the Kingdom.

We'd selected the hotel because of its proximity to the airport and shuttle service. We just needed a place to stay one night on our return trip back to Boise due to our flight schedule. We were picked up at the airport promptly and the driver told us a little about the hotel on the way - it's owned by a church. They bought it, have completely remodeled the rooms, and have a Tully's Coffee shop on the premises and free breakfasts provided. Our bed was absolutely the most comfortable hotel bed EVER, the room had decorator-style bathroom cabinets with granite, nicely tiled bathroom, armoire with flat-screen TV, coffee maker, microwave and small fridge. Public transportation is right outside the door with bus service or the Metro train. We couldn't have been more comfortable or had nicer hotel employees. We're fans!!!

  • Liked — Proximity to the airport and public transportation.
  • Disliked — It is in an older part of Portland with no resort-type amenities but we did not need them, just a comfortable room for a short stay. It met our requirements and exceeded our expectations.

The Quality Inn and Suites Airport Convention Center is an exceptional place to stay. We stayed here for two nights. The Inn is actually 2 separate motel chains, The Quality Inn and The Rodeway Inn. The first night we stayed in the Rodeway Inn section of the Inn. I will review the Rodeway Inn separately. The Quality Inn and Suites rooms are large, super clean and comfortable. The rooms open out onto the parking lot. There is not an indoor corridor but that was not an issue. The rooms are very quiet. What makes the Inn superb is the staff. We were greeted with cookies, apples and coffee when we arrived. We got there prior to check-in time but were still able to check into our spotless room. There is an airport shuttle that we used to take our daughter to the airport. The driver took us to the airport in a matter of minutes, helped us with our luggage, carried on a delightful conversation and then came and picked us up after our daughter's plane departed. The continental breakfast in the morning is served at the coffee shop on the premises. There is a large variety of breakfast foods to choose from including waffles, hard boiled eggs, cereal, toast, juice and coffee. Oh, I have to mention the beds, they are incredible. We had a king size bed that was the most awesome mattress I have ever slept on. I want to have one at home just like it. All in all, The Quality Inn and Suites Airport Convention Center is terrific.

  • Liked — The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable and the staff was very friendly.
  • Disliked — The room was a bit too dark.

If you are looking for a hotel located close to the airport , stay here.
We were a little worried when we first arrived as we prefer hotels with internal corridors, but the rooms were excellent, very clean and recently refurbished.
The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
Excellent breakfast, we were leaving at 4.00am and they provided us with cereal and milk the night before our departure.
Highly recommended and would have no hesitation in booking here again

We had booked a Quality Inn on Sandy Blvd. in June, 2008. When we arrived in Portland and drove to this hotel on Sandy Blvd., they did not have our reservation for 2 rooms. It was midnight and we were tired from a 5 hr flight cross country. As I found out, the Quality Inn on Sandy Blvd. that I booked had become a HOWARD JOHNSON's since booking our rooms!!! So, we did not get our $62+ tax for a total of $70.86 per night; we instead were fortunate (?) to get $89.99+12%tax. I was very skeptical of the rooms from looking at the outside, but it was after midnight and we were exhausted. Well, our rooms were BEAUTIFUL! Newly renovated with a wonderful mattress and pillows. Exceptionally clean room! The breakfast was also nice; standard waffles, gravy biscuits, boiled eggs, cereals, yogurts, wonderful, WARM, flaky pastries (not the usual cold ones you get nowadays!). The front desk staff was really nice. We would definitely stay there again! However, I must say.....not the best part of town, but handy to light rail system!

  • Liked — Cleanliness, Breakfast, Proximity to interstate
  • Disliked — Bad part of town!

We stayed here for two nights as a cheap alternative to downtown Portland. Right next door to the light rail system, so it was easy to travel wherever we wanted. We had some problems with the cable, and the room was older and needed some cleaning. They were in the process of redoing some of the rooms while we were there.

The complimentary breakfast was decent, and the staff was friendly. My only complaint was that, because this hotel is blatantly owned by some new-age church, we were subjected to listening to Christian music while we ate our breakfast. I'm all for freedom of religion, but try to separate your beliefs from your business practices. Not all your customers might be as zealous about Jesus as you are!

Overall an average value for the price.
