“Gorgeous in the Autumn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2013

Laurelhurst Park is very lively park. Many people use it for doing photo shoots, walking their dogs, and running. It is beautiful, it can give you a sense of what Portland looked like before the city was built. It's a big and bike friendly park in a quiet neighborhood. It has a large pond that you can walk around. It also has plenty of paved trails and several picnic tables.

“Oasis in the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

Beautiful big trees, dog park, free concerts in the summer, great for picnics and people watching. I heard it was created by Olmstead of Central Park fame. Don't miss it.

“lots of activities for everyone”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

This is a relatively large park (at least in inner SE) with tennis courts, basketball courts, kids games, a large jogging path, a pond and many many trees.
It doesn't get too exposed in the summer so it is a perfect place for family BBQ.
Often they have free concerts and movie nights during the summer season.

Air quality might not be the best since it is next to Cesar Chavez BLVD, but I don't know 100%.

Nice park otherwise.

“Serenity in the middle of the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

I live about 8 blocks from this beautiful park! Often on the weekends, I take a walk up the hill to Laurelhurst Park and enjoy the morning. The park is beautiful, a lot of green spaces, and a dog park area. Numerous picnic tables, benches, horseshoe pits, tennis courts, basketball courts and a playground.

This park is also a haven for walkers and runners, and I have seen people doing other types of exercise, such as TaiChi. One of my favorite parts of the park is the duck pond. I often walk to the South side of the pond and just sit, observing the ducks. Recently I have noticed a log in the middle of the pond, with a few turtles hanging out. It grants me a place of serenity and calm in the middle of a busy city.

The loop around the park is easily a mile, and there are paved paths and even some trail options, with a lot of varied terrain. There are a good set of stairs to utilize as well for exercise purposes. They also do have public restrooms open, which is very helpful for those mid-walk breaks.

As a long-time Portland resident, this is easily one of my favorite spots in the city, and provides an excellent spot for picnics and family gatherings as well. I love the trees, the rolling hills and the pond.

“A beautiful place to while away a Portland summer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

We were lucky enough to live round the corner from Laurelhurst park when we lived in Portland and we certainly took advantage of it! We walked there at least once a day, often twice or three days, stopping to read, picnic, people/dog watch, or just look at the beautiful trees. Oh the trees - we miss those lovely trees so much. The park is a green oasis in the city. It is perfect for couples, friends (there are lots of sitting/eating areas), families, kids, etc. - we even saw a few weddings there, and it really is a gorgeous setting for a wedding. It's just a great place to hang out and while away the summer - we also did other cool things there such as watching classic music and films - both free events during the summer. I miss you Laurelhurst park!
