This has almost all of the benefits of NYC's Central Park and few of the detractions. It's large and lovely, with intimate spaces and fun spots too. A walk around the perimeter is a good workout, and the local neighborhoods are delightful.

Love, love, love walking through Laurelhurst park! Growing up in the neighborhood had me spoiled at an early age. Any season, whatever the weather, the scenery is breathtaking, relaxing and fresh.

Loved the big trees and they gave off wonderful shade. Watch out for the squirrels and dogs that should be on a leash.

Love the way the neighborhood used the park. Picnics, sports, dogs getting exercise, people playing music, lovers. It was all there. A mini version of New York City's Central Park. Children's art featuring birds found at the park was displayed on the fence around the pond. Very sweet, community feel.

Laurelhurst Park sits in the residential area of the same name. There is street parking or you can ride your bike or walk to it. It has different activity areas. We were here in early August. Three grandchildren, two sons-in-law and myself walked there in early August. The kids were happy to be in the park. There was some outfit that was teaching people how to climb to the top of trees using a "rope elevator". It's self propelled. They all tried it and one of the eight year olds made about forty feet to the top. His father, uncle, cousin and twin didn't make it to the top but they all had fun. It's quite heavily treed anf a good amount of open space.
