Have ridden this before when staying at the Airport. This time we used it to get to our hotel downtown. It is inexpensive, clean and quick. I was concerned when I heard about several random stabbings in the past few weeks before we arrived and one at the Lloyd Center which was our first stop. After we left the city was the stabbing of two good Samaritan's which made national news. Many people use the mass transit with no incident. We decided to stick with Uber for rest of our local trips around town.
Love Portland transit system, it is very easy to get all over the city. Been to several cities and so far Portland and Seattle have the best bus train systems. Buy an all day ticket and ride it all over the city as you take in the sites.
MAX connects Airport to downtown & suburbs. Easy to use. Combined with Streetcar system makes it easy to get around town. air conditioned.
We use the max all the time. It serves all parts of the Portland area but also goes to Hillsboro to the west and Gresham to the east. It's cheap and reliable. The streetcar is also a good way to travel to OMSI and the Pearl District.
We used the Max Red line many times during a car-less stay in Portland. The line got us to Washington Park easily, and to and from the airport as well. A bargain.
Always love taking these, takes all the work out of the miles put on foot, though we still do plenty of that, because we like to get a good sense of the area.
