The roses were still blooming even in mid July! Well cared for, nice touches with architecture and displays. Mostly well marked, but there were some varieties that I was not sure of the placement of the plaques. Overall, however, it is a timeless treasure!

Free entry.
My mothers favorite flower and the perfect time of year to visit.
Over a hundred varieties and the colors and smells great. Nice small gift shop. One drawback the tour buses were there and the restroom lines were a wait.

These gardens are beautiful and offer a nice view of the city below. Row after row of flowers in spring bloom with every conceivable hybrid displayed in all their glory. Not as busy as other areas and we enjoyed the 2 hours we spent taking pictures and spelling the wonderful fragrance. What more can I say? Yes, it is free...thank You Portland, OR Parking was easy too!

Wow! I love this park. I don't really know the different species of roses but I just love them all. There was a woman playing the harp and singing which made the visit so much more beautiful. I could picture myself just sitting in the middle of the park, reading a book enjoying the picturesque atmosphere the Rose Garden has. It's a great place for a picnic, with the whole family, or with a special someone, and an awesome venue for a wedding.

These gardens are the gem of the entire northwest and proof Portland offers quality living for ALL its economic levels. Five connected gardens all handicap accessible and each with their own distinctive personality are amazingly free and a fantastic spot to spend a few hours. Take the stage and perform a piece for friends, listen to the musicians that occasionally grace the perfume laden air, take tons of photos of the Portland view and the magnificent roses tended by the OHSU Horticulture Dept or bring a picnic. Plan on spending at least two hours if you really hoof it, but a half day is a better option.
