“Maybe in lacks in comparison”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

There are many such sites around the west as Sauvie Island. The Sacramento River Delta comes to mind. Maybe we were expecting more, but there are a few farms to visit and you have to get a permit even to park and go look at the river. The signs in the wildlife area are amusing in the long list things you are not allowed to do. It is a nice drive out of Portland and in the fall the leaves are pretty, but we were not impressed with it as an "attraction". Try going south to the wine country, it is much more worth it.

“too beautiful to describe”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

There are so many beautiful things to see/do/experience on this island that it would be silly trying to condense it in few words.
I used to go there initially just to bike around and pick blackberries... of course there is much more.

If you have a car, you need to have a permit unless you just go to a farm.

Be careful since during the week-end there is a lot of fast traffic.
