“Great birding!”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

The island is wonderful - great produce markets, nice beaches, good birding areas, some of which are remarkable during the fly-over and in the winter, and a really nice place to bike or take a walk. Parking can be difficult, and you need a permit, but it's worth the trouble. It's a beautiful, peaceful place to spend the day. But bring your own lunch or be prepared to eat what you buy at the produce market - there are no restaurants here.

“Beaches, farms, bird watching”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

You do have to pay for a parking permit, but it is easy to spend the day on the island. Several direct from the farm stores, seasonal fruits, vegitables, flowers. Great for pumpkins and apples in the fall. Beaches on the Columbia river. Eagles can be seen. Kayaking is good, too.

“Walking on a good day”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

We walked at Wapato and the Oak Island trail. It was beautiful and there were some eagles and other birds there. Added interest a visit to the fruit stand on the way home. Great visit.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

This place is beautiful, but the parking fee is outrageous. Our tax dollars already go to fund this place, and now we are being charged an additional fee to park in an almost empty lot? Ugh!
