“Not awesome but good, and reasonable”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

We had a family brunch here, and I enjoyed it very much. The service was friendly and helpful and the restaurant is slightly upscale but kid friendly - and there were lots of kids. The prices were "nice brunch" level but not unreasonable. The coffee was good and plentiful, and the brunch entrees were imaginative and delicious. I split my dish with my sister. Together we shared the cheesy polenta with poached eggs and bacon, and the eggs on a croissant with caramelized onions in a red wine reduction. The next day I had breakfast with my dad at Shari's. Petite Provence is only a little more expensive, but about three times as good. (I'm sure the proprietor is reading this and horrified to be mentioned in the same breath as Shari's, but my point is that you can pay an average price for an average meal at a chain restaurant, or you can pay a little more for a MUCH better meal here.)

“Very Nice Place”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

Very nice place; confortable and with a tastefull presentation. Very good service; atentive and pronto. But the Colette Omelette was only fair; same the coffe. A little better was the Salmon Hash.

“Outstanding bakery”
Reviewed May 31, 2014

Great coffee, outstanding pastry (samples refreshed as you wait, the place is popular especially on a holiday weekend) and great food. More than an ordinary breakfast it made our first meal out on this Portland visit memorable. The Daybreaker with pork and apple sausage and a fresh croissant, I'll be back as it was so enjoyable to eat.

“Wonderful food”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

Suggest you make reservations for this place as it's very busy. The service was a bit slow but the place was packed. Place was very noisy. If the weather is nice, you may want to take a table outside so you can hear each other. The food was above average but the atmosphere drags it down.

“Breakfast...”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

This is the kind of meal that looks better than average on the plate. Once I began to eat I had to slow down and savor. No one needs to tell you to do that, your brain will realize this is a Meal to be enjoyed.
