“Delicious and authentic”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Petit Provence is a lovely place for a coffee and croissant,..or more of our favorite a Monsier Croquet, or Madame Croquet..or a multitude of other superbly made sandwiches or pastries. The atmosphere is friendly, and the service has always been delightful. I always bring home a huge pink box of unique treats for the family!

“Lovely cafe”

Beautiful space and gorgeous pastries. We had brunch and cocktails and I'd love to go again to try more good things.

“Less than I expected”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

Having eaten at Petite Provence on Alberta Street a few years ago, I was looking forward to trying the site on Division Street on a recent visit to Portland. Since I travel a lot on business, I am used to dining alone and simply ask that I be treated the same as parties of 2, 4 or whatever. There was a bit of an attitude from the server that I was a bother and taking him away from whatever important duties he was attending to. Besides the attitude, the service was also not attentive. On the bright side, veggie quiche was really good. I probably will not go back but one gets the feeling that the Petite Provence doesn't care.

“Charming restaurant/bakery”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

This restaurant is in an older neighborhood that is turning to upscale, as the NW 23rd and Hawthorne neighborhoods did. Nice atmosphere and clean, with a variety of interesting menu choices. Reasonable prices.

“Perfect French Bistro in SE Portland”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

The atmosphere and food is all totally authentic but not kitschy Parisian. Convenient location on SE Division. Their brunch/breakfast is perfect with many choices, and they serve breakfast through mid-afternoon. I always order the eggs benedict, which is classic and cooked to perfection. Service is friendly and efficient. It is hard to resist pasty to go, as they have a full French bakery on site. Including a low window so the little ones can see the kids' pastries, so beware if you are there with children. The only little nit that I have is that the tables wobble, but they are helpful about putting shims in, but maybe they should just fix them in a more permanent way. They also have one in Lake Oswego, which is the same excellent quality, and apparently one in Bend also. You cannot go wrong here.
