We stopped by the new Bamboo Sushi location on NW 23rd, and were very pleased with the experience. As far as I can tell, this is the first review of Bamboo Sushi NW on TripAdvisor, which I find surprising - it's quite a popular restaurant.
We sat at the sushi bar, and were treated to a great show by the sushi chef "Hee", who is not just incredibly skilled, but also very entertaining. He's not one of those somewhat dour, serious types you often see behind the sushi counter. He made everything we ordered right in front of us, and recommended we try the "Green Machine" roll, which is one of the house signature rolls. It was delicious! You'll have to try it for yourself - it's really too complicated to describe! We also had a salmon roll, which was a little different from what we've had at other sushi restaurants, as the salmon seemed chopped in some fashion. Finally, we had a crunchy tuna roll, which was very different than what we've had before - the crunch comes from vegetables, rather than bread crumbs or something of that nature. The meal comes with a free bowl of edamame, and when I pointed out that the waitress hadn't charged for our green tea, she just said it was on the house. I don't think they actually offer tea for free, but it was a nice gesture. Total bill was just $30 for two people. Very reasonable for the quality and the experience! Plus you can feel good about your meal because Bamboo Sushi only uses sustainably-harvested seafood. We'll definitely be back!
