“Amazing Bang for your Buck!”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

The four of us really wanted to go but they had no online availability so we called and the hostess said to come down anyway and that they would find room for us- awesome! What hostess says that these days? We were all impressed at the menu and wanted to try everything so we decided to try the Small and Large plate tasting menu. Warning: It's 14 courses serviced family style! 7 small plates, 3 large plates and 4 deserts. We were stuffed! The food was amazing- had a hard time picking a plate we didn't like. Everything was fresh and creative, but not over the top. The service was outstanding as well. Can't wait to go back again!

“Unusual, delish dishes”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

Park Kitchen is a must go to place in downtown Portland. It is small, charming and extremely friendly. The food was GREAT. If you go during happy hour, the small meals are $8 which is a bargain. I had the chick pea fries and loved them. There were so many that I wondered why they called it a small meal. I could not finish them so had leftovers the next day. Lucky me.

“Always something new”

I ordered the chickpea fries, porcini custard and chocolate torte. The porcini custard was perhaps the most flavorful mushroom dish i have ever eaten. What great flavors and inventive foods! This was my fourth visit.

Both food and service was excellent. They had a nice bar and wine menu. A great Portland dining experience and an easy walk within downtown area.

“One of the very best in Portland, and unpretentious”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

I knew we wanted to try Park Kitchen-we've had their food many times at the annual International Pinot Noir Fest in McMinnville, with 100+ of the best pinot noirs and some of the heralded chefs in the area. It's not that easy to stand out in that environment, but they do. The full restaurant, visited on a Thursday evening, is fantastic. We both thought that the food was as good as anything we've had in Portland, and we've eaten at all the great places. We started with Ken's bread, of course, and endive crab soup-delicious! The grilled leg of lamb was medium rare to perfection, served with fennel, mushrooms, and tomatoes in a light, delicate yoghurt sauce. Not overbearingly rich, just fantastic. The fresh albacore is as good as you'll have, if you can find it. Served also medium rare, as it should be, with a fantastic tomatillo sauce, almost a soup, served with a knife and fork for the fish, and a spoon for the sauce. Desert was equally great: panna cotta served with fresh peaches and toasted pecans, perfect but not too sweet, and an amazing chocolate tart served with hazelnut ice cream. Unbelievable. The wine choice was great and not over the top. All in all, we'll come back again and again, and tell everyone we possibly can to come also.
