This is a bustling place and the window tables are like needles in a haystack. The city view is outstanding. The service is polished and attentive. The food is very good, but my husband prefers the Capital Grille in Seattle for steak preparation. On the other hand, the calamari appetizer was outstanding. My shrimp dinner was good.

The view from the restaurant is spectacular. The service was really good. And we liked the fact that we were not rushed with our dinner. The Crabcakes were awesome. The Rib Eye Steak was really good, cooked just as I ordered. They had underground parking too.
We would definitely come back to this restaurant.

We enjoyed some amazing appetizers, drinks and views after running the Portland Marathon on 10/6/13. Highly recommend the filet sandwich and salmon cakes! The place was packed by 4:15 on a Sunday, so get there right at 4pm!

The old adage is that restaurants with a great view often don't have the best food. Unfortunately, that proved to be the case with Portland City Grill. The place is popular and crowded. Located on top of a tall building, it has a wonderful view of the city. Many people like to go there for drinks and hors d'oeuvres, which is what I would recommend. You can enjoy the view and the ambience and still leave with most of your wallet in tact. Unfortunately, we had dinner there. While the service was good, the food was extremely pricey. If the food is of exceptional quality, then the price is worth it. Sadly, the food did not warrant a price anywhere near what we paid. Obviously, the restaurant charges for the view. So go for drinks and hors d'ouevres while enjoying the view. Late in the evening the place gets even more crowded and noisy as the bar scene is in full swing.

You could enjoy the beautiful view during the dinner. The happy hour's price is very reasonable. You could spend a great afternoon.
