Not many tables, so it may be a bit of a wait, but it's definitely worth it. The food is good and the service is good. What more can you ask for?

“Gluten Free Hawaiian YUM”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

Always wanted to eat here but it's almost impossible to find Hawaiian food made with wheat free soy sauce. Now that's all they use here! And it's GOOOOOOD. My frugal Dad thought it was a bit spendy for lunch but was then impressed by the portion size and ended up taking 1/2 his meal home. His BBQ chicken special was great, my pan fried chicken was perfect, and Mom's ribs were finger lickin' good, literally, I mean, she was licking her fingers. I've never been to Hawaii, but I know people who have and they say this place is very authentic. It's a bit loud in the main room (Dad doesn't hear well) but then when your mouth is full you're not conversing anyway. Also a downside is the only GF subsitute for the mac salad is a cheap, plain salad of bagged lettuce, but maybe one day they'll make a GF mac salad! Looking forward to going back for Mai Tais at Happy hour and some Hawaiian tunes weekend evenings.

My family loves this local favorite! It is hands-down my 7 year old's favorite place to go. Can't go wrong with the giant portions, tender meats, and out of this world mac salad! Friendly and consistent service also keeps us coming back for more.

“By far my favorite Hawaiian food in Portland”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

Bamboo Grove just has it right. The food is always good and the atmosphere is casual yet a bit of an upgrade from some of the other Hawaiian grills in the metro area. It really does have the feel of a restaurant you could find in Hawaii.

Their service is fair and their pricing is reasonable especially considering that their portions are very generous. The macaroni salad is fantastic and they put a bottle of their delicious teriyaki sauce on the table.

They have some nice booths for dining and also a large banquet size room in the back if you have a large group. I was there on a Sunday night and they had a couple of guitar players there playing very nice Hawaiian style music at an appropriate volume.

Try them out. Just don’t crowd up my favorite spot.
