“Chill urban location”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

This park is flashy as far as parks go (and as far as Portland goes). Dare I say this park has style? Anyway, this park fits more along the lines of fountain, tables, and chairs then grass and trees. The tables and chairs are perfect for meeting people and sharing a meal or just a conversation. There is also free wifi, so you could even settle down with your computing device of choice. The restaurant Elephants in the Park dominates one corner for those interested. The park is a small square nestled among the buildings with the MAX going by consistently, so keep in mind this is more of an urban meeting place then nature filled park. Another unique park offering from Portland.

“Nice, urban park with huge chess set board”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

This is a lovely place to spend an hour or two. Great location by a Max stop. There is a splash fountain where kids can frolic in the water. There are lots of tables and chairs where you can sit as long as you like and read or watch all the people. There is a restaurant on the site that will bring your food and beverage to you so you can eat outside in the park area. No alcohol can be consumed within the boundaries of the park. There is a huge chess board with 3 feet tall chess pieces. People are usually playing a game and you can watch. The Park hosts who are on staff are very friendly and helpful.

“Great place to spend some leisure time in the city”
Reviewed April 12, 2014

This cool little urban park is a great place to spend a little lazy time while in the city. Located a couple blocks from Pioneer Courthouse Square, it is less crowded, has less commotion and has lots of tables and chairs which makes it ideal for hanging out reading a book, people watching or just enjoying those few days of sunshine we get every year,

There are all sorts of events that happen here. I first became acquainted with this park several years ago when they showed a World Cup soccer game in the park on a big screen, it attracted a large crowd and is still one of my favorite memories of the city.

It is located right next to Fox Theaters and Nordstrom's. There is a casual restaurant in the park with an outdoor seating area. This place serves beer and wine and it is great to sit on the terrace, drinking a beer on a warm spring/summer evening.

This is a clean and well maintained park and there is a park attendant there at most times to make sure things stay safe and clean.
