Old school, popular mainstay restaurant in Portland. Great menu. Crab bisque was good. Horseradish/Parmesan crusted salmon was good. Veggies crisp. Experienced servers. I would absolutely return.

There is also a seafood version of Jake's nearby. Dinner with friends was reasonably priced and food and service were excellent.

This place has history. That's a good enough reason to go. Breakfast was so-so. Perhaps those who ordered meat off the grill were happier customers.

We stumbled into Jake’s Grille when looking for a last meal in Portland and were not disappointed. The service was very solicitous and the seafood excellent. The presentation was modern and the combinations very tasty; we polished off our plates. Nice cocktails (try the Midori-green ‘Portland Raindrop’), good beer, and the surroundings were entertaining (animal busts) and wooden bar and booths. The drop ceiling belies its vintage but tastefully decorated to give a prohibition era feel to the place. This and Jake’s Famous Crawfish are the same group of restaurants and share the same high level of service but Jake’s Crawfish is the more old fashioned and touristy of the two. Prices are about the same, $25-$35 mains, cocktails $8-$12.

Enjoyed couple of meals here while staying at Sentinel - what a gem. Breakfast was delicious, great children's menu, attentive service.
