“Good atmosphere mixed food experience”
Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

We loved this old establishment built in 1895. It had a lot of character. Our service was ok as was our food. I had the steelhead fish which was great and cooked to perfection. My wife got the recommended Dungeness crab and shrimp cakes. They were a big disappointment. They looked and tasted like devil crab patties. The dessert trio was very nice. The triple berry cobbler with Tillamook ice cream was a hit. Pretty pricey.

“Great Fish and service”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

One of the original Fish houses, great service, great seafood, and wonderful drinks. A great place to start your evening, and end it as well!

“Not as good as before”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

10 years ago Jake's was the bees knees. The quality of the food hass gone down since M&S took over. The food, especially seafood is still good and can be outstanding. before M&S all the seafood was outstanding. recently had the halibut cheeks. These should melt in your mouth like butta, but mine didn't. They were a little tough. Sides were ok, but nothing memorable. Too bad, it is a Portland tradition to take guests to jake's.

“Good Food, Famous Place, Pretty Pricey”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

Jake's is the place where we Portlanders take first-time visitors from out-of-town who want fish. Old time charm with dark wood booths and tables and the white-shirted staff. While the food is very good it has become very highly priced. Check out the menu and prices online before you go to avoid menu-shock.

“Amazing service, food and atmosphere!”
Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

Came here with my mom for my birthday dinner! We ordered the stuffed prawns as an appetizer. The sauce that came with it was a taste of heaven and made you want to lick the plate. For dinner I had stuffed halibut that was to die for. Keith was our waiter and he was great. Ill definitely return when I come back to Portland. If your in the mood for seafood, this is the place to go.
