We ate here during the Christmas - New Year. It was packed but we had reservations. One problem is that we needed a table for 6. We waited about ten minutes and were seated in a smaller dining room. I thought the seating was very prompt. We started off with cocktails and had interesting appetizers. The waitress asked if we were in a hurry or did we want to have a leisurely dinner. We opted for the latter. Three of us were Easterners and three were Portlanders. The waitress suggested different things on and off the menu. We took some of her suggestions and since I'm not much of a fish eater, I ordered beef. The red and white wines flowed easily. Everyone cleaned their plates including our grandson. My sister-in-law was only waiting for the triple berry cobbler dessert. She had this several years ago and hasn't stopped talking about it. This restaurant is part of the McCormick & Schmick's empire. It doesn't lose anything in quality but it does insure consistency. We had an enjoyable time and look forward to our August 2013 visit. It's large and busy. I don't know if it would be good for romance but it is good for business luncheons or dinners.

We went at lunch..Jason the bartender was very attentive, and made the Best Berry Martini i ever had! The food was excellent! hand cut fries, (not small and thin), the garlic mash potatoes were also the bestest!..we had Rock fish and clams..the clam chowder had a little too much bacon, but was thick and creamy. the desserts looked amazing..but we were way too full! Definitely a MUST ! ..(do not get mixed up w the other jake's ) this is on 12th!

While visitng Portland we dined at Jake's. The meal was fabulous. The oysters on the half shell were cold and so very fresh. The wrapped shrimp was fabulous. The crab saute we had as a main was excellent. Be sure to save room for dessert. The chocolate box is to die for!

The food was rather average and the kitchen was very slop-ow, with long delays. This is tough on the wait staff.

the restaurant was old school in it's appearance wood and such, but the food was tremendous, My friend and I both had etouffee and it was served in a tureen, which was more than I could eat. the base was a beef broth which was different. Very rich and good. Served with rice. My server Mariko was delightful and present without being omnipresent. It's a must go in PDX
