We were looking for a nice place to stop for a light meal before a concert at Schnitzer Hall and discovered Southpark. Know they have great dining but we have always headed for the back, sat at the bar and had the most outstanding meals. Quiet. Great conversation. Had the best bread pudding of our lives recommended by the bartender. Besides it's fun walking into a building that has a fish sculpture leaping through the corner of the building.

On a whim since we were hungry, we decided to stop in, we had never been there before. My Octopus Ragu was good, but a little spicier than I would like and his King Salmon was not what he expected and ate only the fish, not the veggies and cold pea soup. It was a learning experience. If you are inf=to Gourmet food, it's a great place to eat, limited menu but pricey. I think our total bill was around $90.00 2 dinners, 2 beers and 1 smoked fish sampler. The staff are awesome, very accommodating.

I have eaten both lunch and dinners here. It is walking distance to The Portland Museum of Art and Performing Arts Center as well as "The Schnitz" where our fabulous symphony performs.
Location helps, but I have never had anything in Southpark that wasn't extraordinary, both in presentation and flavors. They have several varieties of fresh oysters, as well as the best seafood around. It's pricy, so be prepared, but it's worth every penny! And don't leave without one of the incredible desserts.

Excellent NW cuisine. Oysters always on the menu. Burgers are delicious. So is the beet salad and the eggplant soup (in season). Wine choices plentiful with emphasis on Pinot Noirs from Oregon.
