“Yum!”

Great selection of food choices, including a special menu with vegetarian and vegan option. The cocktail menu has several fun options. The service was great, even with our large party. Everything was wonderful!

“What a find!”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

We dined at Oba while visiting some friends in nearby Vancouver and what a great find this was! When we arrived, there was a very lively bar scene but we were there for dinner so we had a nice booth towards the back of the restaurant. Our server was very prompt, friendly and she had great recommendations from the menu. I had the dinner special which was grilled maui-mahi over asparagus risotto, my spouse had the ahi dinner ( regular menu) and our friend had the enchiladas. All meals were superb. My mahi was seasoned just right and the risotto with pieces of asparagus was heavenly. My spouse is quite the ahi addict so is often quite critical of ahi dishes but this was one of the best We will definitely go back if in the area again. This probably is one of, if not the best, restaurants in the city.

“Very Good Food”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

I went to Oba with some friends and we had a great experience. The food was very good and we were there for happy hour. The only complaint that I have is that the portions were a little small for the amount I paid, but it was very good.

“yummy place to eat!”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

Great food and staff - foods are amazing, beverages just as adventurous and great!!! Pulled pork, desserts, everything has been great -- one of the first places I went in the Pearl years ago - and it's still going strong. Highly recommend

“Oba , on Sunday, in the Pearl”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

On Sunday afternoon, we stopped here for a 4pm drink, and light meal to hold us over for the late meal we had planned, after a movie.
We ate in the bar. It was light and airy with a really upscale feel to it. There was background music, but not too loud to hear each other.
Service was excellent. The server was a young woman who was attentive but not intrusive. Things came in a timely manner.
The food we chose was from the happy our menus. We had chicken tacos and chips with salsa. There are 2 tacos to an order. They were excellent - had just the right combination of cheese, chicken, vegetables and sauce. They were not spicy hot, but had a mild kick. The chips were tricolored, and acceptable. They serve them with tomatillo dip and a red dip/sauce that tastes like ancho or mole,
Drinks were the classic lime margarita and a mango martini. The margaritas were better than the martini, which I found too sweet and vert syrup-y.
Besides the great ambience, it is a real value as well. Especially since all day Sunday is happy hour.

If you go get the tacos and Margaritas. Skip the chips, and maybe try a different Martini.
But definitely GO
