This place has been dishing up cafeteria style Mexican food for many years on popular NW 23rd. Now that there are many better eateries in the neighborhood, this one is a little tired and run down. At noon today it was not busy while many in the neighborhood were. Despite the sparsely attended food line the server/cooks were slow but cordial.
The idea is that you order ingredients for various dishes and tacos from a buffet line then plates are completed while you go through the line. Pretty good idea if the food prep is quick, which it isn't.
There are lots of better restaurants within a short walk and plenty of fast food Mexican places in Portland, but this is convenient and affordable place for a quick lunch when all other places are too busy.
