“The Portland Experience”
Reviewed May 1, 2014

I was referred to this "Landmark" by those Portlanders who I was working with... They talked about the decadence of the "Apple-Maple-Bacon-Fritter"... Upon arriving downtown I was drawn like a mosquito to the neon "Voodoo Donut" sign... Upon entering the donut lab, I was introduced to the "Willy Wonka" of donut manufacturing, the combinations of donuts was truly remarkable, and the taste matched the hype... The only thing missing is "Walter White"... It was so good, I visited the one in Denver... And would Volunteer to help the franchise grow in Birmingham, Alabama... If the selection committee would see this as a viable future site.

“They Voo Doo it Right!”
Reviewed April 30, 2014 via mobile

Amazing experience and incredible donuts. Open 24/7 and always a line, but don't pass this up. Waiting in line can be entertaining if you can see street people interacting with hipsters as street theatre. The bacon maple bar is the bomb. And the 'adult' donuts are pretty funny! Bring an appetite and make sure your dental insurance is paid up!

“Fun Theme, Cash Only”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

We waited in line in a light rain for about 10 minutes only to reach the door and find that the place only accepts cash (no checks or cards). Their reasoning is beyond me. We were only able to buy two donuts, but would have purchased more to take home to friends and family. Fortunately it was close to our hotel, so we did not have to drive and/or park to experience our disappointment. If you go, BRING CASH!

“tourist trap”

Voodoo donuts are over-hyped and gimmicky. Blue Star makes much tastier donuts if you want that kind of treat. With all the great bakeries in Portland, you have much better options.

“Great donuts”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

We went at 7:30 Saturday morning and only waited 10 minutes. Yummy donuts. Loved the basic ones and kids loved the super extra sugary ones. Somehow got shorted 2 donuts. Not sure how many I paid for. Try to pay attention to what's going into the box.
