Our family attempted to dine at a new barbecue restaurant on trendy NW 23rd, but they did not have hi-chairs available! So we went a few blocks further and found McMenamin's Tavern and Pool. While it was a Saturday night, it was rather early when we arrived (5:30 p.m.) and they had plenty of room for us and had hi-chairs for the wee ones. They welcomed us and brought us food quickly, as the little guys were hungry! Food was delicious - the Portland Dip is amazing! They offer daily specials and deserts and a wide array of alcoholic beverages, including their own brews. Although they are advertised as a "tavern and pool" establishment, it was a tame bunch and a pleasant room with incredible decorations (as most McMenamins have!) Highly recommend for families for a great meal and great service.
