Why have I not written about Pazzoria in the past? Our family enjoys the informal cafe atmosphere, wonderful salads and soups and delicious baked goods. They have the best bran muffin in the city; great blueberry muffins and a luscious ricotta cookie. Salads and soups are well-priced and delicious. Spinach salad is a favorite: two kinds, both with delicious cheese. And Kevin makes award-winning art with his capuccinos, lattes and mocha drinks. Pazzoria is adjacent to Pazzo, an excellent Italian restaurant, if you prefer a full menu.

While staying at the Hotel Monaco recently I inquired at Peet's Coffee on SW B'way as to where I could get a quick sandwich or salad---the barrista pointed across the street (SW Washington) & said "Right over there"...Pazzoria Bakery & Cafe. I ordered the 2 salad combo w/soup for about $7. Two large servings each of albacore tuna salad with capers, cherry peppers, red onion, olive oil and a baby spinach salad with pine nuts, fennel and red onion. The large cup of soup was a beautiful, vegetarian tomato basil. Everything fresh, homemade, tasty. I want to return to sample some of their baked goods soon.

From across the country I scheduled an evening reception here for a group of 21. We originally wanted the wine cellar space but that was booked. Hotel Vintage Plaza's very helpful catering manager, Heather, suggested the Pazzoria, which closes at 4pm, and would be available as a private space. It ended up being the perfect spot, cozy and rustic. Everyone had great things to say about the food and wine, especially Pazzoria's fresh baked bread with olive oil and the Fattoria Chianti. The group's server was knowledgeable and very helpful. Follow-up was also very good from the catering office. We will definitely use the Pazzoria again for future events in Portland.
