We suggest making reservations early. We called on a Monday for reservations on Tuesday as we were traveling to Portland on Tuesday and wanted to dine here that evening for our one special night out. The only openings were for 5 pm or 7:30 pm.

We sat indoors but close to a large open area to the patio so it seemed like we were almost outdoors. The waitress was excellent in helping us to choose the appetizers and meal. We shared the bacon wrapped almond stuffed dates, fresh vegetable tart and wild mushroom and spinach salad. All fantastic choices. My husband ordered the Osso Bucco and I the Wild Oregon Salmon on a bed of a bulgur pilaf with pistachios, cucumbers and other unique veggies. Everything was cooked to perfection and out of this world. For dessert we shared the warm plum tart...another heavenly choice.

We would definitely return here if we are ever in Portland again.

Highly-recommended, the concierge at our hotel managed to secure us a reservation on the pleasant outside patio during a hot summer's evening. Menu nis ot overwhelming on the number of items, but it had sufficient breadth and was intriguing enough to have us debating as to what to try. We decided to share an appetizer, salad and main course and our strategy proved just right as the portions tend towards the generous. We also ordered the to-die-for chocolate souffle to end off a perfect meal - with the exception of an overly bitter cup of cappucino. High quality dining, but make sure that you make your reservation well ahead of time.

Brendon presented delicious food in a perfect setting. The vegetable risotto was the freshest of the fresh and the Salmon and Black Cod were amazing. A little off the beaten path and worth every step!

The food here is very good. They use fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the food is well prepared. It's also right by the river and if the weather is good, reserve an outside table.

We went on a girls' weekend to Portland in April. We ate here on our last night in the city. We did make a reservation since there were five of us and were a little bit nervous b/c they do advertise on the like tourist-find-your-way-through-Portland map, but hotel staff said it was very good. I am a grilled cheese = happy kind of girl but the friends I was with range from five-star dining NYers to burrito addicts. VQ pleased everyone. I think they do a seasonal menu. We did salads, mains and desserts. The foodie friend declared it the best meal she's every eaten. Whoa. I had a some type of flakey, white fish that I'd never had before with like mango chutney thing (forget the name now), best-meal-she-ever-ate got roasted chicken. I know that sounds boring but it was really, really delicious. The wine drinkers were very happy with the selection and the bacon-lover got the bacon-wrapped dates and enjoyed them. We were at a large U-shaped booth that felt semi-private - good since I'm sure we were annoying. Just a very cozy atmosphere, good service and really excellent food. Yum. After four days in Portland, this and the Saturday morning PSU Farmer's Market were our favorite meals by far.
