Had dinner with my wife on a Saturday night. The atmosphere, food, and service were top notch. The menu choices were interesting, and many dishes used local ingredients. The total bill for 2 was about $110, which may be decent for fine dining, but a little pricey for us.

We had dinner here on our first night in Portland and what a fantastic start to our holiday. After reading the reviews on trip advisor we decided to give VQ a go, we walked in with no reservation and were told that there would be a 15 minute wait. Place was buzzing, we were escorted to the outdoor dining area where we enjoyed a drink while waiting for our table. We shared the Duck Spring Rolls which were delicious, then had the Wild Oregon Salmon that was fabulous and finished with the Chocolate Souffle. I don't usually order desserts but after reading comments left by other visitors on Trip Advisor I decided to try it........it was absolutely, positively out of this world...a taste sensation.

My husband and I spent 2 days in Portland as part of our week long trip to Oregon. We knew we wanted to go to VQ based on other TA reviews but the food was so good we had to go back again the next night. Their menu changes seasonally but look for the duck confit spring rolls and bacon wrapped dates appetizers that are usually on the menu. Reservations are a must. We just cannot say enough about this amazing restaurant.

No wonder the locals don't tell anyone! The restaurant is located near the waterfront and has limited seating, make a reservation or take a booth in the bar. We had a dinner for 4 and started with a local Oregon wine, followed by a rabbit pate. It was very good and tasty. We all had a different entree: The most exotic was the bread pudding/mushroom/truffle plate. I never would have guessed bread pudding would work as an entree. Every meal was cooked perfectly and served hot. Killer service and nice view looking out over the park. Prices was reasonable and in line with quality of food and service. On our do again list when in Portland.

Great menu, great location. We liked the cheese and meat plate, which was a perfect euro-style meal by itself, with mostly local ingredients. Must try summer cocktail hour or dinner under the huge shade tree.
