We booked an early reservation for our anniversary dinner. The service was excellent. French onion soup and beet salad to start; really nice. Spaghetti for a pasta course-wow! My wife had the quail- tasty but tiny. I had the lamb- surprising and delicious. Nice choices on dessert; the creme brulee was spot on. I can't afford to be a regular, but I sure could sit over on the bar side and do happy hour!

Good variety on the menu. I had the papardelle with wild boar and it was just as good as I had in Tuscany. My companions also enjoyed their meals of cavatelli and scallops. The bread was also excellent! Good service too.

Ambitious menu but did not deliver well prepared food. The Calamari was so overcooked and rubbery that we didn't finish it. The lemon-caper remoulade was under seasoned and leaned to the flavor of bland tartar sauce. The Painted Hills Burger was messy but had good flavor. The real conflict came with the braised wild boar. By itself the flavor and texture of the boar was very nice. The whole wheat pappardelle did not complement the meat at all. The braising liquid is thin and while nicely flavored, did not work with the pasta. Ran off the pasta like water and had no coating effect which resulted in a bite of either meat or pasta but no relationship with each other. Would have probably have been a lot more successful with a polenta base or a pasta shape that could capture some of the liquid. Menu looks authentic and inviting but could not deliver what it takes to be a better than average meal.

Shared another wonderful dinner with friends at Serratto. As always, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was romantic but full of energy from happy diners. Everyone seemed to really be enjoying theselves and the wait staff was friendly and attentive.

Serrattos is reliable and has some very tasty dishes. The atmosphere is relaxing and nice in the main dining area. If you eat in the upstairs or meeting rooms, bring a Parka, really, really over air-conditioned.
