My wife and I dined at Paley's last past Sunday evening. This is our third time at Paley's. As always, the food never disappoints. The restaurant deserves all of the accolades it receives. Our only personal reservation (and from the reviews we seem to be alone in this) is the restaurant is a little dark inside. And when the restaurant is full, it can get a little noisy. (Having rhe right table can make all the difference. Am sure the locals know which tables to ask for). But if food is the primary reason for going (and for us it is) then this is a great restaurant for sure.

I am not a foodie but this place could make me turn into one. We did not order the fab entrees but instead got the chef's selection of cheeses and ordered vegies and wine. Everything is extraordinary. The liver pate is divine. Do not miss this gem of a IRON CHEF restaurant.

One objective on a return visit to family in Portland was a return to Paley's Place. Once again we enjoyed a lovely dinner with great, knowledgeable service and beautifully prepared an presented dinners. This is a lovely, friendly place with owners and staff who work very hard to make the meal a delight.

Our meal here was unplanned. We had reservations at Caffe Mingo, but when we arrived on time for our reservation, the hostess said we had to wait twenty minutes to be seated. I am really not fond of restaurants that don't honor reservations, especially when you make them weeks in advance as part of your vacation. We knew that Paleys Place was just a few blocks away, and we had a great experience there on another trip to Portland, so we decided to call to see if they had a table available. They did, and we are so happy we ate at Paleys instead! First, they have an impressive wine list, with a lot of half bottle offerings, which we love since I don't eat red meat and my husband is a die-hard carnivore. Our servers were friendly, attentive, and helpful with wine recommendations. Most importantly, all of our dishes were delicious. I had the cherry and spinach salad with goat cheese, and the ravioli with ricotta and soft egg. Both dishes were wonderful.

Wonderful menu that changes w/ the seasons and availability of fresh herbs, fish, veggies, etc. Loved the atmosphere, each dish was fabulous, and the service was delightful. Can't wait to go back.
