“Love this place, atmosphere, food, and a magician!”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

Have been here many times and have never once had bad food. I'm very surprised at the reviews here actually. It's not cheap - but if you want a cheap burger go to fast food. The food has always been excellent quality, with excellent service. On friday nights (i think) there is usually a magician upstairs that is very entertaining while you wait for your food. Kids love him, and there is no additional charge. Watching a game here is great - huge TV. The service was slow the one time we sat outside for a saturday dinner - but there must have been 60 other people out there too. It's to be expected.

“Decent bar food and pretty good beer in a family setting”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

As we make our way around Portland's breweries, we decided on Raccoon after friends raved about it. The place was pretty busy as we found seats outside on a pretty nice Friday night. Most tables had small kids that used a grassy yard near the tables as a play area. Our server came pretty quickly and we ordered a couple of their beers. One being a white stout. Sounds weird, but was actually pretty good. The IPA that came second was a good, not overly hoppy IPA. We settled on the fish tacos and a burger sliders. Both were pretty good. Pretty typical bar food. We liked Raccoon and it would be a good place for a causal meal/drinks with friends and kids.

“Good for a group of kids”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We go to Raccoon Lodge as it has things our children will eat and provides areas big enough for our group. The food is fine, the beers are varied and good. It is not remarkable, but works for what we want.

“Overpriced”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

Price of food out of proportion to quality. Beer is good and atmosphere is good, but I left feeling I had significantly overpaid relative to what I received.

“average food and service but good beer”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

the place was pretty busy and the interior is cozy-ish crowded at the same time, so lots of people yet in a wooden nice atmosphere with a fireplace.decent beer selection all made onsite and plenty to choose from.the service was adequate and nothing out of the ordinary. lots of the normal pub fare to be found here, you can as well eat downstairs in the bar.yes I would go back but not necessarily for the food, more for the hang out atmosphere downstairs.
