4 adults and 2 kids. We had sandwiches, soups and salads. Everything was good and the service was excellent. I recommend at least one person order a Spanish coffee. Watching it being prepared is worth the cost of the drink. We didn't have reservations and were lucky to get in so make a reservation.

Very fun and bustling place. Did not have reservations. Went on the wait list, but we were able to sit at the bar with no wait. There was a plexi-glass shield between us and some of the food preparation so we were able to observe the clean habits of the chefs. Our food came out promptly. The most surprising factor for me was that the prices were amazingly reasonable. Oh, yes, try their specialty, the Spanish Coffee. It was outstanding and the flaming presentation is a lot of fun.

After reading about this place and watching some clips on the history of the oldest restaurant and also their famous Spanish Coffee, I wanted to check it out....

I was not disappointed.... I ordered the half & half (Traditional Turkey Dinner & Ham)... Good food....

The Spanish Coffee presentation was nothing short of fun and amazing to watch.... Great restaurant with an old traditional feel is what this restaurant exudes....

This is truly a unique restaurant! It is the Oldest Restaurant in Portland, OR. It Specializes in Old School Cocktails, Spanish Coffee and Turkey Dinners. Yep, Turkey Dinners!! Not sure how you go from handshaken old cocktails like Kentucky Sidecars (one of the best I have had across the nation) to Spanish Coffee (Voted best in Portland year after year) to Turkey Dinner but in this instance it all works. You can tell this by the crowds in the place ranging from classic old couples, Pearl Hipsters and international travelers all blending together elbow to elbow and leaving with smiles on their faces probably wondering how it all works but glad they went. Their menu is broad and eclectic and moves well beyond the turkey for sure. They have great steaks and amazing beef stroganoff! The seafood fresh as one would expect in Portland and their late night happy hours are great for drinks and small plates!! Overall a place you should put on your "to do" list when you visit. Besides, who doesn't want to see folks pouring flaming alcohol in a small sugar rim glass full of hot coffee and do it with a smile?

I have never before had turkey in a restaurant that was a good (or better) than home-made. The dressing was moist and not overly spiced, the mashed potatoes were steaming hot, the gravy good. My wife had the halibut, and it was excellent. They bring you slices of their "beer" bread before the entree, and it was delicious. My only regret is that we were staying in a hotel with no way to keep leftovers, as I had enough left to make at least one more meal. Atmosphere was great, and keep in mind a reservation is almost completely necessary. Being visitors to Portland, and using public transportation, we erred on the side of caution and arrived way too early for our reservation. We left to walk around a while, only to have the hostess come out and run after us to say that we could be seated shortly after all. That was above and beyond cordial.
