Description: Noble Rot opened in May 2002. It has gained local and national attention including the NY Times, the Wine Spectator & Gourmet. The Willamette Week named Noble Rot "Restaurant of the Year" in 2003 & Sunset Magazine named it “2009 Wine Bar of the Year”. The best way to plunge into the Rot is through the wine flights that are offered each day. They also display a large bottle selection and all the wines are available to go. Noble Rot’s highly regarded, locally sourced, seasonal food menu is made up of small plates with intense flavors. Noble Rot is perched atop the fourth floor in an award winning, environmentally sound, Leed-platinum certified building (the greenest!) which includes a fantastic west facing city view. With its outdoor patio seating, it is one of the best places in the city to watch the sunset.

Great view of downtown Portland from the other side of the river. The food is flavorful and high quality prepared and presented in a high class manner. Has some unusual item available..."Peanut butter and Jelly" for desert is not what it sounds like...ask about it; I enjoyed it greatly. Service was great and the servers have great knowledge of each item on the menu including where the ingrediates come from and they have a lot of local products in their dishes.

Highly recommend. Don't let the building it is in (office type) in a modest neighborhood put you off. I saw kids and parties there, all having fun without annoying anyone else.

This restaurant is so fun with it's old fashion decor and casual attitude. The food is comfort but they grow their own organic veggies on the rooftop garden. The wine and cheese pairings are surprisingly sophisticated and so yummy. You won't be disappointed.

Took clients here for dinner. Got a table on the patio. Gorgeous view! Fantastic service. The local beer was great. Great wine selection. Food was simple, but delicious. I had the mushroom & asparagus salad with poached egg. I'm a big fan of anything with an egg on it! Delicious! I'd definitely recommend this place and go back if my travels bring me through Portland again.

We dined at Noble Rot because it was within walking distance of our B&B (the very fine Everett Street Guesthouse) and has good reviews on Tripadvisor. We were immediately struck by the amazing view of the city at night. The restaurant has a laid back vibe - no pretense here. The wine list goes on forever, and the hundreds of bottles on display really get you in the mood to drink some! We weren't overly hungry so we shared several small dishes, tapas style. The pureed cauliflower and mushrooms was excellent, and the onion tart lives up to its reputation. The wine list has many local options from Oregon and Washington - we chose a Tempranillo from Fall Line winery in Washington and it was quite impressive. Service was attentive and friendly. Music was inappropriate and a bit loud for the setting (I'm sure the kitchen staff were enjoying it) but other than that, recommended! Vegetarian-friendly.

We dined to celebrate Valentine's Day, at the recommendation of a Portland friend. The food was wonderful and our server, Kierre, made excellent recommendations on both food and wine options. She went out of her way to find a wine I would like (based on my description of it) and she nailed it! Service was attentive but not intrusive. Would definitely go again.
