Our latest trip to Sweet Basil was for a quick dinner before going to the airport. We ate downstairs since it was happy hour. We happened to stop on a Tuesday when ladies get a free appetizer with a drink purchase! We enjoyed fresh rolls, pad thai, and a warm chicken appetizer that was served with crackers. The portions were generous with wonderful flavors. We've been before and we'll definitely be back.

We stopped in for happy hour before a Portland Timbers game. What a gem! The happy hour selection was filled with a variety of dishes. The portions were very generous and all were delicious. The soups (Tam Ka and Tum yum) were large and delicious, with plenty of vegetables. The calamari were tender with a light tempura style batter. The phuket (shrimp) was good, though the fried noodles were a little heavy.

All of the flavors were well blended and made for a tasty stop before the match.

I had lunch in this restaurant last week . The restaurant was laid out very well and had an outside patio where we elected to sit. The service was perfect very friendly and yet not hovering, The food was very reasonable and served in a very beautiful manner. The lunch was about eight dollars ans I thought unbeatable for the money. So for a touch of class in Thai food with great service and economical, Sweet Basil is a good choice.

I liked that this place gave a good helping of food and it was delicious. The place was nice and clean, a bit upscale. There is a nice view (ask for a window seat). Wait staff was nice. Its a very short walk from the hostel. Good prices too!

The Tom Kah was excellent. Beware though, when they ask you how spicy 1-6, 5 is super-duper spicy! Still, very delicious!
