Porland is a city of bridges, and you get to see most of them. Boats and marinas, well kept lawns and flowers and trees. You do need to keep you wits about you, many fast moving cyclists. We had a nice sunny morning, but I'd bet it is a good even in the rain with an umbrella. Large number of small cafes, ice cream shops, coffee houses, bars and restaurants along the route to choose from.

Walking both banks of the Willamette River in Portland is never boring! The scenery of the city and all it's bridges is great! Just pay attention so that you do not get run over by all the bicylclists! That is how people travel here. Always look around before crossing the path. There is a large population of homeless people here, but it seems pretty safe.
