We went to this restaurant from the recommendation of our hotel concierge. He told us it was a brand new farm to table trendy restaurant in the Pearl District. He hit the nail on the head. We were seated in a cute two person table next to the wide open garage door, so we felt like we were dining outside on the patio. The service from the hostess to the server was fabulous. The server was very knowledgeable and attentive. We didn't order drinks, but we kept him busy with our water refills and he never seemed bothered. The food was outstanding- we started with the salmon tartare and the market salad. Both were fresh, unique and flavorful. We then split an entree of some type of Mediterranean fish that I never heard of. We ordered it based on our server's recommendation and were not disappointed at all. Even the greens on the side were very fresh and tasty. Most restaurants would charge a split entree fee, but this one didn't, which I thought was great. I would highly recommend this new restaurant!

We started with the Shrimp Ceviche which was great and some fun cocktails. The Salmon with artichokes was great and fingerling potatoes a must. Halibut cheeks was great too. Highly recommend.

We traveled to Portland for the weekend to attend the Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timbers match. Saturday afternoon and early evening we walked around the shops in the Pearl District and found Riffle NW. What a great find! Luckily we arrived early without a reservation. By the time we left the place was packed.
Service was excellent. Food was very interesting.
We shared the Shaved Brussels Salad and the Beet Cured Salmon Carpaccio and were delighted we did. I had the featured RNW Octopus and my wife the Seared Scallops. Ample servings and great flavors.
We certainly will be back again with friends to share this great find in September when the Sounders return for a grudge match win!

Riffle NW opened in May so on our inaugural trip to Portland we made a reservation and thoroughly enjoyed the location, the menu and service. The Brussels sprout salad (shaved raw Brussels with lemon and olive oil topped with Parmesan cheese) was a new taste treat but a come back from more. The main menu selections feature fresh caught and always will sve 4-5 different selections per evening. The level of detail goes right to the making of their own ice blocks on premises so when you order a tall drink like a Collins your ice cube is a one piece tall rectangular shaped piece of ice . Very cool my wife had a interesting evening and will return on our soon to be next visit
