I can't say enough good things about this hotel! Our room was very clean and comfortable and quiet. From my first call to ask about the room & rates until I checked out, the managers (Rita and her husband) were friendly, helpful, and informative. I did not want to rent a car in Portland and this Econo Lodge is only 2 blocks from a Max stop so that made is very easy (and cheap) for us to get around to all the places we wanted to go. Because it was so quick and easy, a couple of days we went back to our hotel room in the afternoon for a quick nap before heading out again in the evening.
This Econo Lodge is located in a nice neighborhood with a variety of places to eat, near Portland State U, and also near a large Farmer's Market. Another big plus is right across the street are about a dozen of Portland's famous Food Carts!
This was my first trip to Portland but I plan to visit again and will be staying here again.

The hotel room was comfortable and clean. The location was close to public transportation and a safe neighborhood. But the Manager, Rita made the stay perfect. She made sure that we were happy and arranged a tour for us that we had trouble booking. I would recommend staying here and we certainly will the next time we are in Portland.

Needed cheaper, reliable digs close to PSU. This was a block from the free street car and train. Very clean. Not plush, but don't expect that from an econo lodge. Rita and the gentleman we saw there each day were incredibly friendly and had good advice for eats, etc.

Would definitely recommend this property.
It is so spotlessly clean and very nicely presented. The bed was comfortable and furnishings very nice. The owners are very helpful and obliging. The breakfast of bagels, muffins and fruit with juice and tea and coffee was adequate and the area where the breakfast items are displayed, like the guest rooms, is spotlessly clean. Considering how close the property is to everything, it is amazingly quiet.

The hotel is around the corner from the buses, light rail and streetcar(tram) - all free, as the hotel is situated within the free ’downtown core’ zone. The free zone runs from the University, south of downtown through the Pearl District to NSW 23rd Avenue.

Room Tip: Up stairs in corner

This hotel is clean and comfortable for a good price. Located near the Budget Car Rental office and the light rail and trolley lines, it was an easy ride from the airport to the hotel at low cost. Located in downtown next to Portland State University means lots of entertainment and restaurants at low student rates. The hosts couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. This will always be my first choice when I return to Portland.
